the j-me tape dispenser uses two different objects that use the word 'tape' in different contexts. the fusion of music recording tape and sticky tape results in a piece of stationary lovers of retro iconography should not be without. made of rubber, it uses this advantage to be weighty and non-slip. 'small core' tape is easily installed, changed and cut on the metal cutting blade mounted in the top corner.
first introduced in 1963, the commercial survival of the tape cassette as a music format now seems to be destined for extinction due to the introduction of cd's and mp3 players in the digital age. designed to satisfy the nostalgia of a generation remembering the creation of 'mix tape's' for their lovers and carefully unscrewing and re-spooling a favourite album that was chewed up to near destruction by their tape deck. the j-me design team aim to prolong the life of the classic icon that is the tape cassette with this new product.
